Variants alter the race appearance. They can be chosen in the character creation menu. Unlocking a race will also unlock its first variant. The second and third variants of a race unlock when the race's unlock requirements are fulfilled a second and third time, respectively.

If a race's unlock requirement can only occur once, the second and third variants will instead unlock on subsequent deaths.
