Player in the Deep Jungle avoiding Spores.

The Deep Jungle has a hostile level of 10. The portals for the Deep Jungle are colored green with yellow inscription.

The Deep Jungle can be accessed from Desolate Canyon, Shroomtown, or another Deep Jungle.

The portals at the end can take you to either the Desolate Canyon, the Hollow Caverns, or another Deep Jungle planet.

Spores: You'll find vine-like objects all across the jungle which are attached to a spore sack at either end. Whenever a player passes through these vines, the spore sacks emit spores that slowly move across the screen in a random direction. Passing through a vine between 4 - 50 times will also spawn the Hivemind. Touching these spores as well as the spore sacks will deal 2 damage. 

Dialogue

Lenny talks to you up to 3 times based on how close you get to summoning the Hivemind.

  • (after touching some vines) "I'd be careful touching those vines if I were you."
  • (after touching more vines) "I'm picking up a massive heat source in the area. Be careful."
  • (after touching enough vines to summon the Hivemind) "Oh no, it's a Hivemind! RUN TO THE PORTALS!!!"

Strategies

  • Beware of the ranged attack of the Sluglords as they deal 4 damage upon hit and inflict poison. Combined with their ability to move through walls, they can be quite annoying for close combat characters. 

Challenge Level

Challenge level 1 of Deep Jungle increases the health, damage and in some cases speed of the enemies, introduces 2 enemy variants and a boss variant. Spore vines now spawn Slivers when touched. Spore pods deal 6 damage when touched.
